An Equitable Pricing Model
You’re invited to self-assess your access to financial resources and choose the payment rate that is most possible for you. Influenced by Kenya Crawford’s “My Anti-Oppressive Rate Structure”, Britt Hawthorne’s “Embracing An Equitable Sliding Scale,” and Properties of Light’s “Equitable Pricing Model”.
My goals involve redistributing wealth and resources while supporting my community. With the mutual aid fund, I aim to support local initiatives and offer clinical services for free, while ensuring fair compensation for myself and other collaborators.
Redistribution Rate
By selecting this rate, individuals actively contribute to redistributing wealth within the community and enable us to sustainably provide services below their actual cost to others. The redistribution rate reflects a higher cost for those with greater financial means.
This helps ensure financial accessibility for all folks on a path toward radical self-acceptance through self-knowledge.
Solidarity Rate
Choosing the regular rate means paying the standard fee for the service. The solidarity rate covers the service cost sustainably, prioritizing community wellness over individual wealth. The added service fee includes expenses like submitting claims, credit card fees, virtual platform, and EHR.
Accessible Rate
When people choose this rate, they are engaging with a system of mutual aid and accessing community wealth.
The accessible rate is below the cost of providing the service, for people with less access to financial resources.
Access to self-knowledge and affirming spaces is a human right and should not be restricted by access to financial resources
Rates for Individual Therapy
*Please note, $150 is the approximate market rate for Licensed Therapists in DC, MD, VA.
Redistribution Rate: $200 per 50 minutes
Solidarity Rate: $175 per 50 minutes
Accessible Rate: $120 per 50 minutes
Pricing will increase a small percentage each year due to account for increases in operation costs. The prices listed above are current through the end of 2026.
Evaluations Services
Because transparency is important for accountability, here is the breakdown of the cost for diagnostic assessment:
2-3 hours of diagnostic interview session(s) with client and collateral interviews (3-4 hours for combined evaluation)
3 hours of evaluator time in analyzing & organizing information gathered
3-4 hours of evaluator time writing diagnostic report & recommendations (4-5 hours for combined evaluation)
1 hour session with client(s) to review evaluation outcomes and recommendations
Total time evaluators spend on each evaluation is approximately 9 hours (up to 11 hours for combined evaluation)
Rates for Autism or ADHD Testing
*Please note $150 is the approximate market rate for Licensed Therapists in DC, MD, VA.
Redistribution Rate: $1000 (2 payments of $500)
Approximately $110 per hour of evaluator time after cost of assessment measures/scoring
Solidarity Rate: $800 (2 payments of $400)
Approximately $90 per hour of evaluator time after cost of assessment measures/scoring
Accessible Rate: $600 (2 payments of $300)
Approximately $65 per hour of evaluator time after cost of assessment measures/scoring
